Transformation Part 2

Image DetailThe process of transformation can be quite challenging.  It may sometimes feel like you are trapped inside a cocoon and can't get out.  The butterfly goes through a complete metamorphosis from egg to caterpillar to cocoon and then after resting inside the cocoon, at the appointed time, emerges as a beautiful butterfly.

As spiritual beings going through human experiences, we will find the solutions to life’s problems and challenges through study and application of the Word of God.  God may have us in the cocoon stage longer than we want or anticipate but I encourage you to rest in Him while you wait for the completion of your personal transformation.

The following steps will assist you with your personal transformation:

  • The First Step in personal transformation is to change your thinking.  As we transform our thoughts, we are able to change from the stereotypical negative pattern into positive thinking aligned with the word of God.

    • Philippians 4: 8-9 (KJV) “Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.  Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do:  and the God of peace shall be with you.
  • The Second Step in personal transformation is choosing to respond to circumstances and situations with a favorable, positive attitude.  Declare to the circumstances that you are strong and not afraid.
    • Ephesians 6: 10 (KJV) “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”
  • The Third Step in personal transformation is to put your words of faith into corresponding action.  It's not enough to speak positive words.  Faith to believe we can be transformed requires action.
    • Jesus told the man with the withered hand in Matthew 12 "Stretch forth your hand;” Jesus told the paralytic in Mark 2:11 " arise, take up your bed, and go to your house."  He told the man who was blind from birth "Go to the pool of Siloam and wash the mud from your eyes." Each transformation required action.

Worthwhile accomplishments require effort. Make up your mind to transform your thinking, your attitude, and your actions and through prayer and reflection of God’s word, you will see results.
